Not Dragan but Loong!

I learned from my ‘Moments’ just now on my cellphone that the famous writer, Jia Pingwa, suggested that the translation for the Chinese word '龙 'should be chosen a proper one at the 13th National People's Congress. We all know the definition for the word dragon: 'a large imaginary, aggressive animal that has wings and a long tail and can breathe out fire. ' This, of course, is not what we, the Chinese, hope to express. So some experts recommend the word 'loong'. Perhaps, why don't we use the Chinese  Pinyin ‘long?’ I believe  there are two reasons. One is that it is the homonym of the English word ‘Long’ & the other is that the foreigners may pronounce this Chinese Pinyin 'long' as 狼(Chinese Pinyin ‘lang, the wolf.’)

So do you agree with them?
